Literacy program give students the ability to identify, understand, interpret, create, communicate, and compute, using printed and written contexts. Literacy improvement included focusing on multiple activities that will increase and strengthen students' reading, writing, and thinking skills.

Tutoring program provides year-round tutoring sessions, homework assistance, test review sessions, and teaching study skills. Tutoring is provided either at schools, a local library, or a community center. Four days a week from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm after school. Reinforce what is taught in the school daily. Tutoring program provides year-round tutoring sessions, homework assistance, test review sessions, and teaching study skills. Tutoring is provided either at schools, a local library, or a community center. Four days a week from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm after school. Reinforce what is taught in the school daily. After the homework is completed, students work on their weaker subjects which are usually reading and math.

Community Culture events takes place during the academic school year. These activities take place at parks, playgrounds, libraries, recreational centers, local schools, and churches within our community. Parents and grandparents attend these events throughout the year as part of their parent involvement contract.

Cultural immersion is one-way HCRC exposes and teaches students how learning can be fun. Students experience the history and beauty of New Orleans culture through visits to museums, educational programs, and events. They actively participate in personal growth and development through these experiences.

  The Parent Involvement Workshop meets monthly, empowering parents to play an active role in their child's development into a well-rounded adult. Research shows that parental engagement in education strongly correlates with academic success, transcending socioeconomic status.

Parent Training sessions complement this by teaching effective

Students are then assigned to a small group. The mentors develop relationships with students and understand the challenges they may face in school. This allows mentors to reinforce the importance of education.

Music education teaches children the value of music through cultural and educational experiences, while stimulating their brains and fostering a love for music. We believe learning music offers numerous benefits, including the development of self-control, compassion, creativity, planning skills, and verbal intelligence.

Summer program provides educational programming for children during June/ July. Every year we evaluate each student as a whole to see what skills our students need the most. Every summer has helped to prepare our students for the next school year.

The Technology Program provides access to educational resources and online homework support, which is especially beneficial for students without internet access at home. It also reinforces skills, enabling students to practice and consolidate their learning effectively.
